    Signifigance of transaction costs

Should we be concerned for our portfolio when we trade to much? It is interesting note that here on StockStar there is a maximum transaction cost of only $9.95. I always thought that using discount brokerages generally charge a flat rate or 1% which ever is greater which would largerly increase some the commessions paid in the competition. Like making a trade for 10K which be 100 bucks which is ten times $9.95 lol maybe there is better rates that I dont know about but I beginning to have seconds thoughts of my 30% gain so far in the competition especially with 300 trades. So pretty much should we be trading more or less depending on risky we preceive investing?  trading? day-trading ?

on this site it dose not matter I made a trade for 10 grand and my total buy charge was 238.00 then to sell it was to be 360.00. needless to say decided not to sell for a quick 600.00 profit for the bank and  needless to still hold and loosing.in the real world I do not see how we could make money with 10 grand you cant diversify because of fees so you have to put all your eggs in one basket. what a go big or crash big.
